Can a minor create an account if under the age of 18?

Anyone who is 13 or older can create a SynapsePay account. However, if you are a minor (under 18), make sure you set up your account appropriately.

  • Provide YOUR personal information. Use your name, your date of birth, your address and your SSN (not your parent or guardian's information).
  • If you don't have a bank account, you won’t be able to withdraw money from your SynapsePay account. If this is the case, ask your parent or guardian to create the SynapsePay account under their name (with their personal information) and connect to their bank account.
  • If you share a bank account with your parent or guardian, have the individual that is PRIMARILY using SynapsePay create the SynapsePay account with his/her information.

Under the age of 13? Talk to your parents or legal guardian for permission and help in using SynapsePay.
